WORKPLACE ORIENTATION
Training takes place twice a week in-person in small group settings at our offices at 1610 R Street, 3rd Floor, Sacramento, CA 95811, for 10 weeks offering youth a professional office environment to foster workplace acclimation. We will also host larger combined gatherings for additional community-building among program participants and engagement with guest speakers.
Additional in-person or virtual individual and group office hours are also available each week with daytime, weeknight and weekend sessions available. We also have regular workspace hours available for youth to come in to study and work on projects independently at our office.
MENTAL HEALTH AND EMOTIONAL WELLNESS TRAINING
Our program prioritizes teaching mental health and emotional wellness as a core part of youth development. This training focuses on:
1. Increasing Mental Health Literacy
Enhancing knowledge and understanding of how to develop and maintain positive mental health.
Implementing peer modeling programs to normalize and encourage help-seeking.
Teaching skills to overcome systemic barriers to accessing mental health resources.
2. Enhancing Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Learning (SEBL)
Developing skills in self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship-building, and social/self-awareness.
Promoting connectedness to peers, adults, and the broader community.
3. Providing Cognitive Behavioral Interventions (CBI)
Equipping youth with techniques for emotional regulation, anxiety management, and effective problem-solving.
Using culturally adaptive approaches tailored to the needs of young people and their families.
This holistic focus on mental health and emotional wellness ensures participants are equipped to navigate personal challenges while thriving in professional environments.
